Writer (For Hire? Maybe.)
A Note On ARCs
Unless you are a personal friend of mine, I do not provide free book reviews of advanced reader copies. We can negotiate a reading fee if you’re that interested in obtaining my opinion; however, please don’t contact me to request a free book review of your sure-to-be-a-bestseller because I will respectfully decline it without a response. My free time is a precious and rare commodity these days.
A Note On My Availability
I am a busy writer with a solid stream of regular clientele – which includes my positions (plural) as a staff writer. Bearing that in mind, any new work I accept must fit into my current schedule. I am always open to discussing your project(s) and estimated deadlines, however I make no guarantee that I will be able to take them on.
What will you write?
Well... what do you need? I am a skilled researcher who has written with authority for many niche industries, most of which I previously knew little about. I've written engaging product descriptions and marketing content, diplomatic customer service responses (as needed/on demand), press releases, short essays, interviews, and long-form researched articles.
There isn't much I won't write, but I am selective regarding the projects I take on. Wow me with your ideas.
What do you charge?
I am not a content mill; my fees reflect this. My base rate is 20¢ per word, with reasonable edits included.
Can you post my content for me?
That depends. If your website has a blog that’s run by Wordpress or if you have a website on Wordpress and would like me to update your posts for you, I can do that after you’ve approved the copy via email.
I will not pitch, place, or submit your articles to large publications for you. While I have been published in larger publications and I do have some editor contacts, it is highly unethical to write about your company’s product or ghostwrite an article and pitch it to a publication on your behalf, so please don't ask.
Who owns the copyright?
Ghostwriting, by nature, means that I'm a writer who is also a part-time ghost. My name is never attached to the work unless I'm a staff writer with a byline. Bearing that in mind, once the work is paid for, it is yours to do with as you wish and you own all copyright.
Please note that my client contract does not permit the usage of any materials I have written for you until payment has been rendered. If you didn’t pay for it, you absolutely cannot use it. My legal team will be notified if you do.
What is your turnaround for writing projects?
Please note that these are estimates. Clients are taken on a first-come, first-served basis, and my existing clients’ projects take precedence.
Average turnaround time for a first (final) draft:
500 words or fewer, within 2 days after contract is signed.
500-1000 words, within 3 days after contract is signed.
1000-2000 words, within 5 days after contract is signed.
2000-3000, within 10 days after contract is signed.
Work may be expedited only if I’m able, which is highly unlikely.
I have another question that wasn’t answered here, what do I do?
Contact me. Barring a freak accident where I am rendered unconscious, incapacitated, or dead, I check my email multiple times per day.
